Data Center Cabling to Support Ultra-High Density

Mobile and wearable devices, 4K and 8K video streaming, Internet of Things and 5G: Demand on today’s data centers continues to increase due to our rapidly changing world.

Mobile and wearable devices, 4K and 8K video streaming, Internet of Things and 5G: Demand on today’s data centers continues to increase due to our rapidly changing world.

With these changes come increased traffic – and the move from 40G to 100G and emerging 400G data centers. The only way to accommodate these bandwidth levels is to deploy a cable with an ultra-high fiber count.

Ribbon cable is the most viable answer in many cases. They offer faster splicing and installation vs. other options, as well as maximizing square footage. Despite the advantages they bring to data center environments, ribbon cables also pose challenges.
